Your Best Choice for
Electrical Discharge Machining
EDM is a high precision machining process that uses a controlled electrical discharge
to remove metal from the workpiece.
PWC, in Waterbury, Connecticut, works with clients around the country, and specializes in all EDM Services; Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, Small Hole Drill EDM. PWC also offers all Machining Services; Milling, Turning, Grinding, Etc. EDM has many benefits; High precision machining, fine finishes, complex geometry, as well as the ability to cut difficult or impossible to machining material such as high nickel alloys "Inconel", Titanium, carbide, and silicon based materials.

Extraordinary Capabilities
Take a look through our capabilities - EDM || Machining - anything you can design, we can make!

WIRE EDM
In wire electrical discharge machining, also known as wire-cut EDM and wire cutting, a thin single-strand metal wire, usually brass, is fed through the workpiece, submerged in a tank of dielectric fluid. At PWC, we have 10 state-of-the-art Mitsubishi and Makino machines available to cut plates as thick as 300mm, and to make punches, tools, and dies from the hardest, most difficult to machine metals.

SINKER EDM
Sinker EDM, also called ram EDM, cavity type EDM or volume EDM, consists of an electrode and workpiece submerged in an insulating liquid. PWC's four Mitsubishi Sinker machines work to make your complex 3D shape, often with small or odd shaped angles. Vertical, orbital, vectorial, directional, helical, conical, rotational, spin, and indexing machining cycles are also used.
ISO 9001:2015 Certified
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. This certification is an important differentiator, especially in the manufacturing sector since it improves business processes, reduces scrap + rework, reduces cost and ensures continuous business operation by having a robust data backup and recovery plan in case of a disaster.
ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:
- a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
- b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
All the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services it provides.
